On the 22nd of May 2004, DT held its annual function to say goodbye to its graduating batch of 2004 and honor the school’s O-level and A-Level achievements. It was a really special day for all of us graduating students; it was the materialization of our dreams.

By 12 pm, teachers, students, performers, and mothers of the graduating students had filled up the large hall room of the ‘Xinxian’ restaurant. The ceremony began with Mrs. Rabeya Newaz, our beloved English teacher, in her usual role as the presenter of all school functions. The program kicked off with the awarding of certificates, small bouquets and shiny medals of honor for the people who had done the school proud by achieving 5 A’s or more for the O levels and 2A’s or more for the A-levels. Its really is amazing how a certificate can bring so much pride and dignity to one’s personality. As we each received our certificates, there was a glow on all of our faces, such that had not been seen before. On behalf of the outgoing O-level batch, Alina and Sadia gave their goodbye speeches. Asha rounded it off with a heartfelt, impromptu speech, which reminded us all of how important a part of our lives DT has been.

The ninth and eighth graders then came up with one of the most beautiful shows ever. They entertained us with a play, songs and dances, which kept us engrossed throughout. Well of course, we can’t exclude Mrs. Rabeya Newaz from the credits because she too was in the play, though not up on stage. The whole show was dazzling and the ceremony would not have been so complete without it. All the hard work of the performers really paid off.  The whole event concluded with a sumptuous buffet lunch, courtesy of the school.

We’re sure that that day will always be a lovely part of our memories. That day, when we were all handed our certificates, will always hold its own specialty and significance in our hearts.
